I am EJ Bollie, also known as @pythonpriest, a Liberian-born software engineer, technology educator, electronics builder, and defensive security systems specialist based in Melbourne., Victoria

My journey into technology began under circumstances that taught me persistence, curiosity, and self-reliance. Before I had regular access to a computer, I learned programming concepts by writing code on A4 paper and imagining how programs would execute. What started as a passion for understanding how technology works eventually became a lifelong pursuit of building solutions that solve real-world problems.

Today, my work spans software engineering, artificial intelligence, electronics, IoT systems, security technologies, automation, and digital education. I build practical tools, platforms, and systems that bridge the gap between technology and everyday challenges faced by businesses, educators, and communities.

My Craft

Over the years, I have worked at the intersection of software and physical infrastructure. My projects combine procedural PHP, Python, backend system architecture, database design, embedded electronics, relay control systems, CCTV integrations, access control technologies, alarm systems, and IoT automation.

I enjoy designing systems from first principles. Whether developing a software commerce platform, an AI-powered application, a security solution, or an automation controller, I focus on building technology that is practical, maintainable, and capable of delivering long-term value.

I believe technology should be understandable, resilient, and purposeful. In an industry increasingly dominated by unnecessary complexity, I prefer solutions that are transparent, efficient, and easy to maintain. Every database schema, API endpoint, automation workflow, and line of code should serve a clear purpose.
